Professor Wang Shouchang is a prominent scholar of the history of Chinese philosophy and religious studies. He enrolled in the Philosophy Department of Peking University in 1973 and remained there to teach Chinese philosoply and confucious studies. His works, including "The Wisdom of China," "Chinese Culture Needs to Return to Its Roots and Innovate," "Those Who Govern with Virtue Will Conquer the World: An Interpretation of The Art of War," and "Rereading The Analects," have become classic courses in China. He has also maintained long-term exchanges with the overseas academic community and sinology circles. From 1985 to 1986, he served as a visiting researcher at the East Asian Philosophy Research Institute in Singapore. From 1991 to 1992, he was a visiting scholar at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and in 2003, he was a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo in Japan. He is currently the President of the Chinese Cultural Academy with research areas on religious views by Mozi, Confucianism, and the debate between Confucianism and Buddhism in the 20th century.
